The Great Garuda Wisnu Kencana

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, abbreviated GWK, is a tourist park in the southern island of Bali. GWK is located in Nusa Dua promontory, Badung regency, about 40 kilometers south of Denpasar, the provincial capital of Bali. In this cultural garden area, planned to set up a landmark or mascot of Bali, which is a giant statue of Lord Vishnu who was riding his mount, Garuda, as high as 12 meters.
Areas of Cultural Park Garuda Wisnu Kencana located at an altitude of 146 meters above the ground surface or 263 feet above sea level. In that area there is also the Statue of Garuda is just behind Plaza Vishnu is Garuda Plaza where the 18-meter-high statue of Garuda placed temporarily. At this time, Garuda Plaza became the focal point of a large hall carved limestone pillars that includes more than 4000 square meters of open space that is Lotus Pond. Limestone pillars of the colossal and monumental sculptures Lotus Pond, Garuda create a space that is very exotic. With a capacity of a room that can accommodate up to 7000 people, Lotus Pond has earned a good reputation as a perfect place to hold major events and international.
There is also a statue of Vishnu's hand, which is part of the statue of the god Vishnu. This is one step closer to completing a full statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana. This work was placed temporarily in the area Tirta Agung.
