Alas Kedaton is located in Kukuh village, Marga
district which is approximately 4 kilometers from the city of Tabanan. Kukuh
village is divided into seven hamlets and 12 Banjar custom. Most of the people
in this village work as a farmer and in the other time they were carpentry,
employees or workers.
Kedaton temple has four entrances, the west entrance
which is the main entrance and the others are North, East and South entrance
which all of them is leading to the main courtyard. Unlike other temples in
Bali, the inside yard of Alas Kedaton temple which is the most holy place is
lower than the central courtyard. Alas kedaton temple is surrounded by a forest
inhabited by a group of monkeys that are treated as sacred beings by the
peoples. Besides monkeys you can also find some groups of big bat (Kalong in
Indonesian). If you interested to visit this place, you must pay extra
attention to the monkeys, because sometimes they can be bad and steal your
luggage if you not paying attention. Make sure to secure all of your luggage so
you will feel comfortable visiting this place. This tourism object is also
located near the "Tanah Lot".
